Weather in April prepares a pleasant surprise for Ukrainians: weather forecasters told what to expect

April 2023 will bring Ukrainians warm, sunny weather with almost no precipitation. The end of the month will be marked by almost summer temperatures.

This is evidenced by the forecast of the Ukrainian Hydrometeocenter. It is noted that in the second month of spring, the average air temperature will be 9-13° Celsius, which is 1-1.5° higher than normal.

In particular, in Kyiv, in the first week of April, thermometers will rise to +9...+13 degrees Celsius, according to the forecast published on the Meteoprog website. There will be light rains in some places. In the middle of the month, the air temperature will remain at +13...+16 degrees, and in the last week of April it will rise to 19-22 degrees above zero.

A similar situation is predicted in Odesa. On April 1, the air will warm up to +14 degrees and will fluctuate within this mark until April 21, after which the thermometer will rise to +21...+22 degrees at the end of the month. Occasional light rains are possible.

Lviv is also expected to have a warm April, although light rains and clouds will be more frequent in the city. In the first half of the month, the air temperature will be +9...+14 degrees, and starting in the middle, it will start to rise to +20...+21 in the last days of April.

In Kharkiv, in the second spring month, cloudy days will prevail over sunny ones. Light rains are possible in some places. The air temperature will be from +9 to +16 degrees, and in the last week of the month it will reach +21 degrees.

However, earlier Gismeteo website reported that in April there will be few sunny days and the weather will be cloudier than in March. At the beginning of the month, there may even be precipitation in the form of sleet and rain, and the average temperature will not rise above +9.

On the first day of the month, April 1, rain and snow are expected, forecasters said. It will be the coldest day of the month.

- climatologist Vira Balabukh explained that the temperature swings observed in Ukraine in March 2022 were caused by the so-called stratospheric warming. It destroys the powerful jet stream that held back gusts of Arctic cold.
