  • a metal scraper.

How to clean the grill: step-by-step instructions

The approach described below will help you clean even a very dirty grill. Here are the steps to follow.

Take it out carefully

Remove the rack carefully to avoid scratching the walls and the oven door. Remember to cool the appliance first to avoid burning yourself. It is best to place a very dirty part on newspaper that has been laid out in advance.

Soak

Depending on the condition of the grill, it may take different amounts of time to soak it. The more burnt fat on it, the longer this step should be.

Fill the container in which you will place the grill with warm water and add a generous amount of dishwashing detergent and a few tablespoons of vinegar and baking soda. You can also use a dishwasher tablet, which should work just as well. Make sure that the grill is completely submerged and leave it in the cleaning solution for several hours or better overnight.

Scrub gently

After soaking for a long time, the dirt on the grille will soften, so you will need to mechanically remove it. If the dirt is moderate, even a simple sponge will do the job. If there is a significant layer of burnt fat, you will need to use a metal scraper. Do not apply too much pressure to avoid scratching the grill, and pay special attention to the corners where grease accumulates.

Rinse and dry

When all the dirt is removed, rinse the soap residue off the grill thoroughly under running water. Before returning it to the oven, make sure it is completely dry by wiping it with a towel and letting it air dry for a while. This will help get rid of dirt residues and prevent rust.
