An interesting life hack is gaining popularity online. Cleaning experts advise putting a roll of toilet paper in the fridge. Informacion explains why you should do this and how the paper will help get rid of the unpleasant odor.

Life hack with toilet paper

Before you put the paper in the refrigerator, you need to soak it in a special mixture that is quite easy to prepare. This solution will guarantee cleanliness and a fresh smell.

The necessary ingredients are:

  • baking soda;
  • water.

Step 1. Pour water into a container and add a little baking soda.

Step 2. Mix thoroughly and soak the toilet paper in this liquid.

Step 3. After soaking, place the roll in the bottom corner of the refrigerator so that it does not interfere with other products.

The secret of the life hack is baking soda, which absorbs unpleasant odors. Ideally, you should use a small roll so that it does not take up much space inside.

How to clean the refrigerator

Before putting toilet paper inside, it is important to clean the refrigerator thoroughly. Remove all moving parts, vegetable drawers, shelves, and racks so that you can clean the inside of the appliance without any obstacles.

The first place to clean is the rubber on the door as this is where most germs accumulate. Vinegar will be an ideal assistant. Soak a sponge or cloth in a mixture of vinegar and water and wipe the rubber well. Shelves can be washed with vinegar solution. To prepare it, mix water and vinegar in a 1:1 ratio (100 ml each). When everything is dry, put a roll of paper inside the refrigerator.

By the way, experts told us about the ideal temperature for the refrigerator. They recommend setting the temperature in the refrigerator at 4 °C (or lower), and in the freezer at -17 °C to -24 °C. The ideal temperature in the refrigerator can be lower: from 1.7° to 3.3°C. The main thing is not to exceed the 4°C threshold because that's when bacteria begin to multiply rapidly.
