What to feed currants in June: Fertilizers that will significantly increase the yield
June is a very important month for berry bush gardeners. This is the time when they begin to form ovaries, and you need to make sure that the plant gets the most food, so that the harvest was rich and delicious.

Mineral fertilizer
Currants absorb mixtures with concentrated, fast-acting salts best. For example, phosphorus-potassium fertilizer. On one bush, take 10-12 g of superphosphate or 8-10 g of potassium sulfate. These substances are dissolved in water and water the plant with the solution.
During the period of ovary formation, ash can be used. It is scattered over the soil and mixed with its top layer. Under black currants, it is advised to put 100-150 grams per bush, under other species - 200 grams per bush.
Organic fertilizers
Organic fertilizers such as compost or humus can be applied throughout the summer because they contain no nitrogen. They can also be used as mulch after watering plants. And here is how to use organic fertilizer for fertilizing currants.
Decomposed manure
This fertilizer is diluted with water in a ratio of 1:5 and infused for 3-4 days. Each adult bush will need a bucket of this solution. A young one will only need half of it.
Bird droppings
Here the dilution should be more concentrated 1:2. The liquid should also be allowed to infuse, and then water the bushes in the same amount as in the previous method.
Homemade fertilizer
Any of these fertilizers will not fully replace organic or mineral fertilizers, but they are good for keeping currants healthy. Here's how to make them.
Potato husks
Starchy peels pour water in a ratio of 1:1 and insist for a month. The resulting concentrate is diluted with water ten times. A bucket of such liquid should be placed under one bush.
Starch
It is also possible to make a similar feeding from cooked starch. Dilute 100 grams of dry substance with 2.5 liters of water and cook something like kissel. This amount is diluted in a bucket of water and pour the resulting liquid on one bush.
Bread
Put fresh or stale bread in a bucket, pour water and cover with a lid. It should infuse in a warm place for a week. From time to time the remedy is stirred. When the liquid is ready, it is filtered and diluted with water at a ratio of 1:10.
Weeds
After weeding the vegetable garden, you can put the removed weeds in a barrel, pour water, cover with foil and leave for 1-2 weeks in a sunny area. Over time, the product will begin to ferment and foam will form on it, and the color of the liquid will become lighter. At this point, the fertilizer can be considered ready. This concentrate is also diluted with water 1:10.
Coffee grounds
This is a good way to saturate the soil with nitrogen. It is also very easy to use. The grounds are simply sprinkled under the bush and mixed with the top layer of soil. As you water the currants, they will get a boost from the coffee.
