Tom Cruise, 60, has returned to the role of a CIA agent in the new film Mission Impossible. Exclusive video footage

In July 2023, a new film of the cult franchise Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. The film will be the seventh film story about CIA agent Ethan Gantt, whose role is invariably embodied by Tom Cruise. For the first time he tried on the image of the famous spy back in 1996, but even now, 27 years later, the actor performs all the most difficult stunts of his character on his own.

So, in the new part, the audience will see a scene that managed to become a cult even before the film was released. In it, Ethan Gant jumps off a high cliff on a motorbike. The official distributor of Paramount in Ukraine, B&H Film Distribution, told OBOZREVATEL how this episode was filmed (to watch the video, scroll to the bottom of the page).

Preparations for the extremely dangerous stunt took over a year. During this time, the 60-year-old Tom Cruise had to jump 500 times with a parachute and make 13 thousand long jumps on a motorcycle from a springboard.

To rehearse this scene, a special training facility was built to simulate a cliff. Then a similar jump, only higher and longer, was marked out on a real cliff. Cruise, dressed as a CIA agent, drove off the cliff at high speed and then jumped into the abyss.

The entire preparation process and the actual performance of the stunt were filmed for a separate exclusive video.

The script was written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who previously worked on two films in the series, Nation of Outcasts and Fallout.

The film also stars Pom Klementiev, Hayley Atwell, Vanessa Kirby and Rebecca Ferguson.

It is known that the production budget was $290 million (about UAH 10.6 billion).
