Things that need to be thrown out of your closet for good

Things that need to be thrown out of your closet for good

If you're faced with a problem of having nothing to wear or if you can't find anything in the closet as it is full, it is time to give it some order. My name is Anna Romanko, and creating an individual and comfortable style is my life's work. I suggest that you get rid of five categories of things from your wardrobe today; such as clothes that no longer fit your figure, do not match your age, are irrelevant, worn out, or you simply do not plan to wear them anymore. I advise you to review your wardrobe regularly and without regret at least once every six months. Or you can divide it into two seasons: spring/summer and fall/winter. Now let's clean!

Clothes that don't fit

I advise you to carefully and thoroughly reconsider clothes that do not fit your figure.

These can be things that have become too narrow or too wide after a change in physical shape. Wearing such clothes, as a rule, causes inconvenience, and some people may even feel uncomfortable if the clothes are too tight. Keeping a whole shelf of clothes in your closet for when you lose weight is not a rational idea, and wearing these things is completely unreasonable. Instead of keeping such clothes in your closet, consider adapting them to your current figure or going to a tailor who can make the necessary changes. If this is not possible, then the best solution is to get rid of such clothes and replace them with things that fit your beautiful and current figure.

Items with defects

Items that have lost their presentable appearance, are faded, stretched after washing, or have problems such as stubborn stains and pills that cannot be removed should be removed from your wardrobe. My advice is to focus on things that look fresh and well-maintained.

Clothes that don't match the fashion

If a piece of clothing is out of fashion and no longer suits your style or looks outdated, it is a wise decision to leave it in the past. Your argument against it may be that fashion is cyclical and that yesterday's trends will be trends again tomorrow. They will be, but in twenty or thirty years and always in a very modified form.

Things are not age-appropriate

I recommend taking into account the age and style of clothing when selecting wardrobe items. For example, sweatshirts with provocative inscriptions, skirts with ruffles, or transparent turtlenecks are among the clothes that lose their relevance over time. Things that evoke negative emotions or bring back unwanted memories are unnecessary in your wardrobe.

Things you no longer like

This category is my favorite.

Every woman has a pile of things that have been lying around for a long time.

Lifestyle, fashion style, and perception can change over time, and that's perfectly normal. There is a simple life hack to determine whether you need certain things: take the unnecessary items and put them in a box. If you haven't used these things within a year, feel free to get rid of this box because these things clearly have no place in your closet.

You don't have to throw them away as you can give them away to friends or give them to those in need.

TOP-7 things you should definitely get rid of

1. Skinny jeans with low rise and holes

This combination, unfortunately, does not add to the attractiveness of any woman. They show all the flaws of the figure, distort the proportions, are absolutely not fashionable, and have many other disadvantages. A definite no!

2. Grandma's shoes with perforations

You should not blindly follow the opinion of older women who claim that these shoes allow your feet to "breathe". This is not a sufficient argument for dressing like a grandmother. There are many fashionable, stylish, and comfortable alternatives that are worth considering.

3. Knitted dresses with incomprehensible prints

These dresses can often be seen in bazaars, they are decorated with leopard patterns, roses, daisies or the so-called "cucumber" print.

Even a young and attractive girl can look like an aunt in such outfits.

4. Jewelry from the Soviet Union

Red gold and old-fashioned shapes (not to be confused with vintage) indicate a lack of taste, as if you're stuck in the past. Jewelers are doing so many beautiful things in 2023, take a closer look!

5. Sausage-shaped fur coats

This term is used to describe a cut that resembles sausages on a shelf. These fur products make the figure look awkward, add extra volume where it's not needed, and often create a visual hump. I hope you have long since gotten rid of such a fur coat as it is a shame to inherit it, and no one will accept it in vintage stores.

6. High stripper heels

If you don't work in this field, you shouldn't wear high heels associated with stripping. Usually, short girls prefer such shoes to make themselves look taller, but they almost always look inappropriate, especially when combined with open short dresses.

7. Bolero

We all remember when it was a popular trend in the 2000s to wear short tops and throw micro bolero blouses over them. But now we're in 2024, a quarter of a century has passed, and it's time to think about making a change. There are several reasons to abandon this style: it can create a disproportionate figure, increase the volume on top and destroy the chest line. This is not what you want.
