Once is enough: what to feed strawberries for a bountiful harvest
Strawberries are a favorite berry among Ukrainian summer residents. It tastes great fresh, makes the best jam, and can be a delightful addition to various dishes and drinks. However, for strawberries to grow well, proper nourishment is essential.
As OBOZREVATEL has found out, you can achieve this with a single fertilization before the season. But for this, you will need to prepare a special mixture, which is added in the spring before strawberries bloom.
To make the solution, you will need:
- Water
- 0.5 teaspoon of boric acid
- 0.25 teaspoon of potassium permanganate
- 13-15 drops of iodine
- 2-3 tablespoons of ammonia
Add boric acid and potassium permanganate to one-third of a bucket of hot water and mix well. Next, fill the bucket up to the brim with cold water and add iodine. The solution must be mixed thoroughly once again. In the last stage, add ammonia and mix everything once more. The resulting liquid should be light pink in color.
This fertilizer is applied through watering. Pour 300-400 ml of the mixture under each strawberry bush. It helps restore strength even to stunted plants, resulting in large, sweet, and juicy berries.
