The Security Service of Ukraine detained an enemy informant who was collecting data on the defence of the South Ukrainian NPP. Based on this information, the Russian occupiers were preparing attacks.

This was reported by the SBU press service. The offender, who turned out to be a resident of Yuzhnoukrainsk, was detained in the Mykolaiv region.

He had pro-Russian views, which is why the Russian FSB managed to recruit him. It happened in February this year.

As part of his "cooperation", the offender was interested in the locations and number of Ukrainian defence units guarding the Yuzhnoukrainsk nuclear power plant.

The enemy accomplice received money from his Russian "handlers" for collecting data.

It was established that the suspect received UAH 2 thousand "advance" from Russia on his own bank card.

The offender was caught red-handed when he was photographing one of the critical infrastructure facilities. He has already been served a notice of suspicion and a custodial measure of restraint has been chosen.

It is worth noting that a resident of Mykolaiv, a former head of security at an infrastructure facility, was sentenced to 8 years in prison for adjusting Russian missile strikes on educational institutions. The man had been collecting intelligence on the locations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine since the beginning of the large-scale invasion.
