How to whiten tulle to its original state: an effective folk method
White tulle on windows adds a stylish and delicate touch, serving as a decorative element for any interior. Nevertheless, this translucent fabric tends to accumulate dust from the outside, especially during the summer when windows are frequently open. Consequently, the challenge arises of how to restore the tulle to its original whiteness without causing harm to the delicate fabric.
OBOZREVATEL has discovered a method that can help rejuvenate tulle without requiring significant effort, substantial expenses, or the use of harsh chemical bleaches.
The key is to maximize the effectiveness of a regular laundry detergent, be it powder or gel, while avoiding the use of chlorine, which can irreparably damage the tulle. The secret ingredient for this method is table salt.
To prepare the bleaching solution, follow these steps:
- Use your usual detergent - 5 tablespoons.
- Add salt - 5 tablespoons.
- Mix the ingredients thoroughly in warm water with a temperature not exceeding 40 degrees - 5 liters.
Submerge the tulle to be washed and bleached in the resulting liquid for several hours, preferably in the evening so that it can soak overnight.
In the morning, take out the tulle and rinse it gently but thoroughly. Once the fabric dries naturally, you can hang it back up, and it will delight you with its pristine whiteness.
