How to get rid of dust at home if laziness is your middle name: useful life hacks
Cleaning takes a lot of time and effort. Of course, some people see cleaning as a therapeutic procedure and wipe all surfaces before the dust and dirt even have time to settle, but most of us would rather spend time on something more enjoyable and productive.
The less time you spend cleaning dust from your bookshelf, the more time you have to spend reading books. Apartment Therapy has told you how to quickly get rid of dust at home.
Life hack 1
Pick up dust without lifting a finger. An air conditioner or ventilation system makes the air in your home move until it eventually reaches the inlet, where the filter can capture and accumulate dust. However, don't forget to change and clean your air filters regularly.
Life hack 2
Deep cleaning appliances and vents in the house is a big job that takes a lot of time. Cleaning experts recommend waxing appliances and vents to keep them dust-free for longer.
Life hack 3
Life hack for the lazy - don't make your bed every day. Sheets are better ventilated if they are not tucked in. This also prevents dust mites from getting into your cozy bedspreads and pillowcases.
Life hack 4
Dusting can be done with an ordinary sock and a mop. Put the sock around the mop and use it to remove dust from the floor, walls, and ceiling.
Life hack 5
Socks can come in handy again - they can be used to wipe dust off blinds. Put a sock on your hand and wipe the horizontal blinds with your fingers. You'll be surprised at how much dust you can get out.
Life hack 6
Use an old pillowcase placed on the floor to remove dust from the fan blades. Simply open the fan and gently wipe the dust from the center of the fan to the tip of the blade. The motion will collect dust from the blades and the dust will fall onto the pillow instead of the floor.
Life hack 7
Use a microfiber cloth and isopropyl alcohol to clean the keyboard. Dampen the cloth with a little alcohol and wipe the keys and surface. Alcohol acts as a disinfectant and removes stains and dirt. It is important that the cloth is almost dry because excess liquid can damage the keyboard.
Life hack 8
Wipe dusty lampshades and curtains with a lint remover. Upholstery brushes are great, but a lint remover does the job better. This is especially true if you have pets.
Life hack 9
Use a makeup brush to remove dust from small decorative elements. If you like to collect certain figurines, figurines, or other small things, cleaning them from dust can be a real challenge. Use a clean makeup brush to wipe off the dust.
