He is 102 and she is 100. A couple who lived together for 81 years revealed the secret of a strong marriage

The British couple Ron and Joyce Bond, who have been married for 81 years, have spoken about how they have managed to maintain a strong marriage for many years. On the occasion of their wedding anniversary, the couple recalled that their friends predicted a short-term relationship. However, they are together because of mutual understanding and respect.

The Daily Record writes that the lovers got married in 1941 at the Newport Pagnell registry office when Ron was 21 and Joyce was 19. Their love began at first sight. And they call the main secret of their relationship the ability to "give and take a little".

"It feels great! There is no boss in our relationship, we give and take," the couple said.

Ron is now 102 years old and Joyce is 101. They live together in a retirement home. They have two children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

"We never expected to be married for 81 years, we know we are very lucky to have reached this amazing goal," the couple added.

Last year, on the occasion of their 80th wedding anniversary, the Queen of England herself congratulated the long-lived couple.

"How wonderful to hear about your eightieth wedding anniversary on January 4, 2021. I really hope you enjoy this wonderful occasion," Elizabeth II wrote in a letter.
