Why you should add sugar when baking mackerel: recipe and advice from the cook
Mackerel is an ideal fish for baking and marinating, and it can also be added to salads, such as Mimosa, as well as made into cutlets and cooked with vegetables. But very often fish becomes dry and tasteless when baked.
Cook Svitlana (recepti_svitlana21 ) shared a recipe on Instagram for a delicious baked mackerel with sauce that is soft and tender.
Sugar will make fish soft! You can add it to a sauce or simply sprinkle it over raw fish fillets before baking them.
Ingredients:
- mackerel - 1-2 pcs.
- soy sauce - 4-5 tbsp.
- lemon juice - 1 tbsp.
- oil - 1 tbsp.
- sugar - 1 tsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Gut the fish, remove the fins and head, and cut and remove the bones to make a fillet.
2. Add salt and pepper.
3. Mix everything for the sauce, mix well.
4. Put the fish on a baking sheet with parchment, carefully cut into pieces, but so that the fish does not fall apart. Spread the sauce on top.
5. Sprinkle with spices and bake for 20-25 minutes at 180 C.
Serve fish with sauces or lemon.
