Who should not eat dried fruits and why: an unexpected answer
Dried fruits are often eaten instead of sweets, but most often they are added to pies, muffins, cereals, as well as yogurt and cottage cheese. However, not everyone knows how much and which ones can be eaten without harm to health.
Nutritionist Yana Leheza shared whether dried fruits are really healthy and how much of them you can eat per day on Instagram.

"All store and market dried fruits undergo various treatments, including chemical ones, to have a good presentation, to be stored longer and not to be exposed to harmful insects and microorganisms, so they can be harmful to human health," the expert explained.
Who shouldn't eat dried fruits
"People with diabetes and obesity should be careful about eating dried fruits because of their high sugar content, but dried pears, apples, currants (not sweet varieties) can be eaten in moderation," the expert said.
"Diabetics should refrain from eating exotic dried fruits, such as dried bananas, pineapples, and dried cherries. The same applies to everyone who wants to lose weight!" the nutritionist explained.
How much dried fruit can you eat per day
"Eating dried fruit in large quantities is harmful to health as it can cause allergic reactions and dehydration. The high sugar content in dried fruits and berries has a negative impact on dental health, so it's a good idea to brush your teeth after eating dried fruit," the expert said.
Can you eat dried fruit if you are on a diet
"I don't recommend eating them at night if you want to lose weight as they cause insulin production, which in turn reduces the body's fat-burning activity," the nutritionist summarized.
