Steamed varenyky with strawberries: recipe for the most successful dough with kefir
Varenyky is a favorite dish of many people. For them to be puffy and not fall apart, it is necessary to make a successful dough. It will be best if you steam them.
Food blogger Yuliya Avramenko (yuliya_yna) shared a recipe for steamed strawberry dumplings on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- kefir - 0.5 liters
- baking soda - 1 tsp.
- salt - 0.5 tsp.
- flour - 400-500 g
Filling:
- strawberries - 500 g
- sugar
- starch - 1 tsp.
Method of preparation:
1. To prepare the dough, sift the flour into a deep bowl and add salt, baking soda and kefir. Knead a homogeneous dough and leave to rest for 20-30 minutes.
2. Prepare the filling. To do this, rinse, peel and cut strawberries. Add starch and sugar to them and mix.
3. Divide the ready dough into two parts, roll them out and cut out circles with a glass.
4. Form the dumplings and add filling.
5. Steam the dumplings for 5 minutes on each side. Done!
