How to make thick hot chocolate at home: add one ingredient
Hot chocolate is the perfect drink to keep you warm in cool weather. It's a good alternative to coffee because it doesn't contain caffeine, and it's very easy to make at home. To make hot chocolate have a thick consistency, experienced housewives advise adding a little starch.
Food blogger Kateryna Movchan, known as katarina_movchan, shared a recipe for thick hot chocolate on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- dark chocolate – 100 g
- milk – 480 ml
- cocoa – 2 tbsp
- sugar – 2 tbsp
- salt – a pinch
- cornstarch – 1 tbsp + milk – 2 tbsp
Method of preparation:
1. Put milk, chocolate, cocoa, sugar and salt in a saucepan and put it on fire.
2. Mix starch and milk separately.
3. When the chocolate in the saucepan has melted, add the mass with the starch. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil.
4. When the mass begins to slowly boil, remove it from the stove and pour the hot chocolate into cups.
Ready-made hot chocolate can be garnished with cookies, marshmallows, and whipped cream.
