Eat and lose weight! Super trendy Mochi cakes made from budget and healthy products
Mochi is a traditional Japanese dessert that is a cross between ice cream and cake, as it is based on a viscous and dense rice dough with a delicate whipped cream inside with various fillings. This dessert is usually stored frozen, but it should be allowed to warm up to room temperature before serving, so it will be very tasty.
Cook Kateryna shared a recipe for delicious Mochi sweets made from cornstarch with pineapple puree cream on Instagram.
Ingredients:
Mochi dough:
- Glutinous rice flour - 120 g
- Powdered sugar - 80 g
- Cornstarch - 5 g
- Vegetable oil - 3 g
- Natural dye - 1 g
- Cold water - 180 g
Cream(15 pcs):
- Cream cheese - 200 g
- Trimoline (or honey) - 20 g
- Powdered sugar - 45 g
- Vanilla paste - 4 g
- Cream 33% - 90 g
Method of preparation:
1. base: mix the dry ingredients, add water, cook on fire until the mass becomes thick. Afterwards, knead the finished mixture with your hands on the work surface, if you want the dessert to be coloured, add the dye, and mix well again. Cut the "dough" into pieces, shape them into balls, and put them in the fridge.
2. For the cream: beat the cottage cheese and powdered sugar with a mixer until smooth and fluffy, add the cream, vanilla paste and honey, beat again. Put into the moulds and put in the freezer.
3. Dust a table with starch and put some dough on it, roll it out into a thin layer and cut out circles 10-12 cm in diameter. Put the prepared filling, gather and join the edges to form a round cake. Remove the excess dough with scissors or a knife, place the mochi on a dish seam side down and brush off the starch. Put the cakes in the fridge for 20-30 minutes.
