How to make hard cheese in 15 minutes: you need two ingredients

If you don't trust the hard cheese you buy, you can easily make it at home. Interestingly, it only takes two main ingredients and 15 minutes of time. The only important thing is to let the cheese sit for a while after cooking so that it can fully stabilize and reveal its flavor.

Food blogger Valeriia (yummy_pp_lera) shared how to make hard cheese from milk and cottage cheese on her Instagram page.

Ingredients:

  • cottage cheese – 400 g
  • milk – 400 ml
  • salt – 1/2 tsp.
  • soda – 1/2 tsp.
  • butter – 10 g (optional)

Method of preparation:

1. Combine cottage cheese and milk in a saucepan. Put on the fire and, stirring constantly, heat to separate the yellow whey.

2. During this time, the mass may become crumbly or turn into one large lump – both are normal.

3. Put the resulting mass on a sieve or colander to drain all the liquid.

4. Add baking soda and salt and put in a water bath. Stir constantly until the mass begins to melt.

5. Add butter, if desired. Stir to combine.

6. Form a ball, put it in any container, and tamp it down. Cover with cling film and let cool completely.
