Recipe

Ingredients:

  • veal - 800g-1kg
  • flour - 2 tbsp.
  • onion - 1 pc.
  • carrots - 1 pc.
  • garlic - 1 clove.
  • tomato paste - 1 tbsp.
  • soy sauce - 1 tbsp.
  • water or broth - 800 ml
  • salt and spices (pepper, paprika, oregano, thyme)

For the dumplings:

  • flour - 130-150 g
  • baking powder - 0.5 g
  • Greek yogurt - 120 g
  • salt - a pinch
  • greens
  • water - 1-2 tbsp.

Method of preparation:

1. Mix meat with flour and fry in a pan on all sides over high heat.

2. Remove the meat from the pan and reduce the heat to medium. Fry onion and garlic in the same pan and then add carrots. Fry together for a few minutes. Add tomato paste, stir, and put the meat back. Add salt and spices and soy sauce, stir and pour in water or broth. Cover and leave to simmer on low heat for 1 hour.

3. For the batter, mix yogurt, herbs and salt. Add flour, baking powder and water and knead the dough. Divide it into several parts and form balls.

4. An hour later, when the meat is almost ready, put the dumplings to the meat, cover and simmer for another 20-25 minutes.

If you wish, you can put the almost ready dish (after 20 minutes) in the oven at 200 degrees for 10-15 minutes. This will make a delicious crust!
