The personal wealth of King Charles III of Great Britain is 610 million pounds (about $761 million). Despite the fact that His Highness is among the richest monarchs in the world, he is far from being the highest earner.
According to the Express, King Maha Vachiralongkon of Thailand, also known as Rama X, has 36 times more money than the direct heir to Elizabeth II. The amount of his wealth is estimated at 23 to 33.9 billion pounds (approximately 29 to 42 billion dollars).
The world's richest monarch owns 6,560 hectares of land, an air fleet of 38 jets and helicopters, and about 40,000 lease contracts across the country. Among the most significant assets of Rama X is real estate, namely 23% of one of the largest lenders in Thailand - Siam Commercial Bank and the largest industrial conglomerate in the country - Siam Cement Group.
Maha Vachhiralongkon was born on July 28, 1952, at the Grand Palace's Ambar Villa in Bangkok. He is the only son of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit.
Rama X became king at the age of 64 after the death of his father in 2016. He is currently the oldest monarch of Thailand to ascend to the throne.
