TVORCHI's Jeffrey Kenny on the Ukrainian language: one of the most difficult but also the most beautiful
The vocalist of the famous Ukrainian band TVORCHI shared what difficulties he overcomes while learning Ukrainian during a break between rounds of the intellectual and entertainment show "ePytannia" on the New Channel.
The language is the soul of the people. For foreigners, knowledge and proficiency in Ukrainian is a kind of key to understanding our culture and uniting with people. Jeffrey Kenny, the vocalist of TVORCHI, a Nigerian citizen, not only supports the morale of Ukrainians by singing at charity concerts but also continues to learn Ukrainian. And for him, this is not just a way to express his solidarity with our people. Jeffrey's perseverance and sincere love for Ukraine inspire many people.
"Everyone knows that learning a language is not an easy process, so I'm not in a hurry to learn everything at once. However, I've already made significant progress over the years, and I'm not stopping and continuing. I can't say I'm fluent in Ukrainian yet, but I'm getting there. I speak Ukrainian with my friends, our team, and most of the people I work with. I constantly think that I make mistakes, and it bothers me a little bit, so I'm working on it," Jeffrey Kenny admits.
Despite the difficulties, Jeffrey doesn't give up and is confidently pursuing his goal of becoming fluent in Ukrainian.
"I really like how beautiful the Ukrainian language sounds. You immediately recognize it among other languages. I had difficulties with long, complex words because non-native speakers have a hard time pronouncing them. Phonetics is not easy at all. Moreover, Ukrainian is considered one of the most difficult languages to learn," says the vocalist.
