The King has made it: sources say Charles III's treatment for cancer is heading in a "very positive trajectory"

Charles III's treatment for cancer is heading in a "very positive trajectory"

King Charles III of the United Kingdom, who was diagnosed with cancer in January, is preparing to begin his third year in office. According to a source close to the monarch, his cancer treatment is "heading in a very positive trajectory."

The eldest son of the late Queen Elizabeth II was diagnosed with the disease after an operation for prostate enlargement, the Daily Mail reports. Camilla, the wife of the Buckingham Palace representative, has been supporting her husband and giving him confidence all along.

"Health has to remain the number one priority, albeit heading in a very positive trajectory," the insider said.

According to the source, over the past year, King Charles wanted to reassure the public that he was strong enough to remain in high office, so he attended many public events with great determination.

"The best way of seeing how the King has coped is through his actions and words - everything that you've seen, everything that he's said, and everything that he's done. From the earliest outset of the health challenge, it was the King's determination to be as public as he was able, so that people could be reassured by just how much he was still able to do in the circumstances, under his doctors' advice," the monarch's representative office said.

After a three-month break, when the British royal family member underwent intensive treatment, he returned to his duties. His Highness is currently preparing for a traditional tour of Australia and Samoa, accompanied by his wife Camilla, who has been by his side throughout.

"Her natural warmth, resilience and sense of humour, as I'm sure any patient will tell you, is a wonderful thing to have," the source said.

The monarch's representative office added that since the diagnosis, Charles III has never lost confidence that he could cope with cancer.
