Ruslana appeared on The Masked Singer show in Belgium and almost reached the final: she dedicated a song to the fallen soldier. Video
Ukrainian singer Ruslana unexpectedly appeared in the Belgian version of the popular TV show The Masked Singer. The performer, who hid behind the image of "Fish," lasted in 10 of the 12 episodes, reaching almost the finale.
As the artist admitted on her Instagram page, she had been traveling to Brussels for a year, but only a few people from the team knew the real reason for her business trips. "This story lasted more than a year. A year and almost two months passed from the first meeting with the production team in the format of a video call to the moment when I showed my face without a mask on the air yesterday," the star wrote.
Back then, Ruslana did not know what kind of image was waiting for her. As a result, the show's producers came up with the character of Zeeduivel, a rock star with big eyes and a bright smile. "But at the same time, she has strong and sharp teeth, which demonstrates her strong character and indomitable spirit. This image is fully consistent with the image of not only me, but also all Ukrainians and Ukraine," she said in the post.
During her participation in the project, the Ukrainian sought to convey messages important to the nation, even though she could not speak, but only sing. In particular, one of the songs Ruslana performed, "Please Forgive Me," was dedicated to the fallen Hero of Ukraine Dmytro "Da Vinci" Kotsiubailo. It was significant that the episode where the song was performed was broadcast on November 1, the warrior's birthday. It was an amazing coincidence, as the broadcasts were pre-recorded and at the time of filming the show, the team did not know when exactly the "The Masked Singer" would be broadcast.
