"It was a surprise for me". The son of Nazarii Yaremchuk made a statement about the film "Yaremchuk. The Unparalleled World of Beauty"
Nazarii Yaremchuk's younger son, also Nazarii Yaremchuk, told us for the first time why he did not appear in the film "Yaremchuk. The Unparalleled World of Beauty" neither he nor his older brother Dmytro appeared in the movie. Also, the singers' mother Olena, Nazarii Yaremchuk's first wife, did not take part in the filming.
In a conversation with OBOZ.UA, Nazarii admitted that he and his brother had met with the director of the film and agreed to star in the movie. They were very surprised that the movie was released without their participation. Nazarii Yaremchuk also shared his impressions of the film and made a statement about the funds raised by the film.
"Many people wonder why the film about Nazarii Yaremchuk doesn't include an interview with his sons Dmytro and Nazarii Yaremchuk Jr. "For me, it was also a question, because we had an agreement with the director to film an interview, and we were planning it. However, it came as a surprise to me when the movie was suddenly released."
"My brother and I met with the director of the future film back in 2021," Yaremchuk Jr. continues, "We liked the idea of making a documentary about my father. We talked for several hours about the concept, which had not yet been formed, and were advised to interview primarily those people who communicated a lot, were friends, and were there during the main periods of Nazarii Yaremchuk's creative development. These are Levko Dutkivsky, Vasyl Zinkevych, Pavlo Dvorskyi, Oleksandr Zlotnyk, Vasyl Koshman, and Volodymyr Prokopyk. I managed to communicate with some of them, but not with others."
"It goes without saying that Nazarii Yaremchuk's family deserves special attention from the director in the creation of the future film," adds Nazarii Yaremchuk, "So it was a surprise to me that there was no interview with Nazarii Yaremchuk's sister Kateryna, who lives in Vyzhnytsia and takes care of his father's museum-estate. For more than 20 years, people have been coming to the museum from all over the world, and she tells them a lot of interesting things about her father. Nazarii Yaremchuk's mother's sister also lives in Vyzhnytsia. Unfortunately, they were not mentioned."
"I was also sure that the director would not forget to interview Nazarii Yaremchuk's first wife Olena, my mother," the musician continues, "She and my father were married for 15 years. My mother, a professional musician, took an active part in his creative life and his development as a star of the Ukrainian stage, as a creative personality, and generally witnessed the development of the culture of those times. Her word about Nazarii Yaremchuk would be of great value in the film."
"I would also like to have interviews with Nazarii Yaremchuk's creative colleagues, such as Vadym Kryshchenko, Viktor Morozov, Yurii Rybchynskyi, Ostap Havrysh, as well as his colleagues Nina Matvienko (she was still with us when the film was made), Taras Petrynenko, Oksana Bilozir, Ivo Bobul, and Ivan Popovych. They would have told us a lot of interesting things. In my opinion, the documentary about my father "Yaremchuk. The Unparalleled World of Beauty" seemed fascinating, but not enough. Nevertheless, the very fact of the film's appearance is a positive event."
"And most importantly, according to FILM.UA Distribution, the total box office of Yaremchuk. The Unparalleled World of Beauty" has reached more than 14 million 800 thousand hryvnias," says Nazarii Yaremchuk. "If my father were alive now, he would be happy that the money earned in his name was spent for the benefit and support of Ukraine at a time when every day our soldiers give their lives for the Motherland and civilians die from enemy rocket attacks," says Yaremchuk.
"Imagine how many lives could have been saved by the medicines, turnstiles, drones, and other military equipment purchased for UAH 14 million 800 thousand, which is constantly in short supply," continued Yaremchuk Jr. "And this is at a time when even pensioners give a significant portion of their pensions to support the Armed Forces, artists give charity concerts to raise funds to support the soldiers, even schoolchildren donate their pocket money. The whole country is working as hard as it can to support the defenders of the homeland to survive and defeat the enemy. I am sure that my dad, Nazarii Yaremchuk, would definitely support Ukraine in difficult times as well."
