Heads Or Tails host reveals the show's biggest secret: the Gold Card did not work the way you thought
Yevhen Synelnykov, host of the popular travel program Heads Or Tails, revealed how the famous Gold Card works during hotel stays. According to the rules of the show, two hosts flip a coin and it decides who will live in luxury and who will live on $100. Synelnykov said that directors are always trying to save money, so no one stays in expensive hotels for the entire 3 days of filming.
As he noted in an interview with Lux FM, the crew does rent an expensive room, but only for one night. Yevhen admitted that from time to time the whole team had a party in the room.
"With the Gold Card, you sleep in a nice hotel for one night, and you shoot for three days. That is, you arrive, you sleep overnight, you shoot, you sleep overnight, you shoot, and again you sleep overnight. That is, you have five nights, only one of which is spent with the said card, or in a hostel. That is, the whole group gathers in one hotel, and all the things and the suitcases are there too. But if I win in coin flipping, I will spend only one night there," the host admitted.
He also said that the hosts' and the team's fees did not depend on the amount of work, as everyone received a fixed salary. However, he decided not to disclose the amount, calling it a commercial secret.
"It's not about the fees. We had a salary. It was not very big. I'm not going to tell you, because it's still a commercial secret. It didn't change whether you made five programs or one. We all worked for a salary. And at the end of the year, if the company earned money, we would get paid according to our interest rate. There was no such thing as a jump in fees," he explained.
