A pig named Pigcasso, who was rescued as a piglet from a slaughterhouse, became a famous and extremely successful artist. She paints abstract paintings that are in demand among art lovers around the world. The animal has managed to earn about $1.3 million for her works.

Pigcasso lives in an animal shelter in South Africa. The Daily Mail reported on her success as an artist.

The pig's talent for painting was noticed by animal rights activist Joan Lefson, who saved it from death. As a piglet, Pigcasso mercilessly gnawed and destroyed most of the objects in her stall, but she was extremely careful with her brushes. Soon, the animal learned to hold the brush in its mouth, leaving colourful stripes, circles, initials and other shapes on the canvases.

"She has a passion for painting. I love to see how a pig weighing more than 450 kg can move a brush across a canvas so gracefully," admires Lefson.

The pig has many customers. The money he earns from sales is used to buy feed, pay the shelter staff, pay for veterinary services and other expenses. Currently, Pigcasso's paintings are sold for up to 26 thousand dollars (over 950 thousand hryvnias). There are also celebrities among the animal's art lovers. Thus, her works are in the collections of actors George Clooney and Ed Westwick, as well as tennis player Rafael Nadal.

"Thanks to her, all these creatures (animals in the shelter - ed.) can thrive, and my shelter is safe. How could I have known when I was rescuing her that she would eventually save me?" the animal rights activist said.
