"When there is a criminal in the house who has come to kill, humanitarian aid alone will not save you." Olena Zelenska delivered a powerful speech in Seoul
First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska delivered a powerful speech at the conference "Asian Leadership. The Era of Turbulence: A Path to Cooperation and Innovation" in Seoul, South Korea, with a powerful speech. The wife of the Ukrainian leader called on allies to stop the killing of Ukrainians.
Olena Zelenska said that Ukrainian cities, like Korean ones, would be able to recover from the bombing. The photos were posted on her Instagram page (scroll to the bottom of the page to see the photos).
"I often have to tell the world what Ukraine is going through because of the Russian attack. But the people of the Republic of Korea do not need to be told. They remember from the difficult history of the twentieth century what it means to fight for life and freedom. They know what it is like to live next to a dangerous northern neighbour with nuclear weapons," the First Lady said.
Olena Zelenska spoke to leading politicians and experts from the region and the world who gather annually to discuss global issues. One of the topics was Russian terrorism in Ukraine.
"We are grateful to President Yoon for his recent words that humanitarian aid alone may not be enough when civilians are being killed. This is a wise insight: when there is a criminal in a house who has come to kill the residents, humanitarian aid alone will not save them. The first thing to do is to stop the killings," said the Ukrainian.
The First Lady appealed to Korea for defence equipment for Ukrainian territories, including the long-suffering Kherson region. Olena Zelenska also added that the fate of security for all countries is being decided right now, because every potential invader must understand that they will lose, as it will be with Russia.
Earlier, OBOZREVATEL wrote that Olena Zelenska, who is raising two children - 18-year-old Sasha and 10-year-old Kirill - congratulated Ukrainian women on Mother's Day. In a touching post, the wife of the President of Ukraine told how the lives of Ukrainian mothers have changed after Russia's full-scale invasion.
