"We cannot be together." Zelenska answers how often she sees her husband and how children react to his absence

The First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, rarely sees her husband nowadays, and if she does, it is mostly during work meetings and official outings. According to the wife of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has literally been living at work since February 24, 2022.

However, Zelenska does not complain and understands perfectly well why their family has to be divided at the moment. The children of the presidential couple, 19-year-old Oleksandra and 10-year-old Kyrylo, also understand this. However, they still have a harder time coping with the separation from their father. The first lady spoke about this in an interview with the German ZDF channel, which was posted on the YouTube channel of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

"This war is changing everything, dividing families. We cannot all live together now. We live with our children, and my husband is constantly at work. Yes, we can see each other sometimes, but it cannot be all the time. The children miss him, of course. Fortunately, we all know what we are fighting for, what he is fighting for, why we cannot be together. And it's not his fault. And the children understand all this perfectly well. We just want more time to be together," said the wife of the Ukrainian guarantor.

Olena noted that for her, the end of the war will symbolize, among other things, the fact that thousands of families from across the country will finally be reunited. Her family is among them.

"Psychologically, Ukrainians are exhausted, but we have no choice but to hold on and wait for reunification. Why does everyone still want victory, to end the war? To meet again so that we can be a family together, especially now, before the Christmas holidays, when traditionally the whole family should gather at one table, and this tradition is impossible for many people now," the first lady commented.

Earlier, Olena Zelenska said that she did not want her husband to remain in office for another term or more.
