Marius Borg Hoiby, the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, is behind bars on suspicion of rape. He is accused of violating the Criminal Code, "which relates to sexual intercourse with a person who is unconscious or otherwise unable to resist."

Borg Hoiby denies the charges. According to the Daily Mail, police officials claim that they detained the 27-year-old man while he was driving a car with the alleged victim, who was also injured during his violation of the law in August. He was arrested for attacking the woman in her apartment and threatening to set fire to her personal belongings.

"What the police can say about the rape is that it is a sexual act without intercourse. The victim was allegedly unable to resist," the police said.

Law enforcement officials claim that they searched the car and seized material evidence. According to the Norwegian television company NRK, Borg Hoiby is now in a detention center in Greenland in the capital, Oslo.

"She is going through a difficult time, and it is not easy. She didn't report the incident, the police opened a case. She was not looking for public attention. She did not know the accused or the other victims in this case before the incident mentioned in the press release. And she wants to be protected," said counselor Hege Salomon about the victim's condition.

According to her, the victim is 20 years old.

Borg Hoiby was detained on August 4 after an argument with a woman in an apartment in Oslo. He was accused of inflicting bodily harm on the resident, with whom he had a relationship. At the time, police found a knife stuck in one of the bedroom walls. In September, he was arrested again for violating the restraining order.

"I have several mental disorders, which means that throughout my upbringing and adult life I have had and still have problems. I have been struggling with substance abuse for a long time and have received treatment in the past. My drug use and my diagnoses do not justify what happened in the apartment on Frogner on Sunday night," Borg Hoiby admitted at the time.

After this incident, he was facing a six-year sentence. But now the charges have been expanded to a sentence of ten years.

Marius Borg Hoiby was born in 1997 in the marriage of Crown Princess Mette-Marit to Crown Prince Haakon, heir to the Norwegian throne. However, this happened before their marriage in 2001.
