Russian Yulia Vorobyova fired from British company for supporting Putin

The British real estate company Edge has responded to Ukrainians' discontent with a Russian citizen employee. Recently, Yulia Vorobyova joined the voting in the pseudo-presidential election in Russia by visiting the Russian embassy in London.

Despite the oppositional attitude of some of those present, the line of people wishing to cast their "valuable" vote numbered "several thousand" people. The events were covered by Ukrainian volunteer Nazar Smyk, who helps the Ukrainian Armed Forces and lives in the capital of England, on his page on the X network (formerly Twitter).

He published screenshots from Vorobyova's Insta-stories, where she boasts that she voted for dictator Putin. "When the Western media thinks that we (Russians) don't vote for Putin. We do! Today is the day of the "election" of the Russian president... I am on my way to the Russian embassy," the Russian woman wrote.

Smyk decided to show the war supporters where they belonged. He contacted Edge's managers to report their employee's narratives and allegiance to Putin's regime. Two days later, on March 18, the volunteer shared the news: Vorobyova was fired.

"Our company no longer cooperates with Yulia. We want to make it clear that the company does not endorse, support, or tolerate any sentiment that advocates violence, aggression, or conflict. We are firmly opposed to any form of war or hostilities that cause harm to others," Edge representatives responded in a letter. After the scandal, the Russian woman closed access to her social networks.

Smyk added that he managed to talk to the company's owner. As a result, Edge decided to demonstrate its pro-European position and donate funds for the humanitarian needs of Ukrainians through the British-Ukrainian Foundation.
