"I'm a little tired, I'm going to lie down": Nina Matvienko's friend on the last conversation with the legendary singer
Famous choreographer, vocalist and member of the Rumbero's band Amador Lopez, who was close to the late singer Nina Matvienko, recalled that she believed in her recovery until the end. She told her friend that she was hospitalized but explained it as "fatigue."
The artist recalls the conversation with the Ukrainian pop star with tears in his eyes. Amador Lopez told the "Incredible Truth About Stars" show on STB about the last time he heard her voice.
The choreographer said that he felt Nina Matvienko's condition deteriorating even before she was admitted to the hospital. He tried to help the performer, but she resolutely refused and joked that she was "not old yet."
When cancer forced the star to go to the hospital, the artist did everything she could to keep her friends from worrying about her.
"I remember she sent me a voice message because she didn't want us to see her in the hospital. She smiled to the last and said, 'I love you very much. Go ahead and everything will be fine. I'm going to lie here for a while, I'm a little tired, and we'll continue to tour and help our guys'," Amador Lopez recalled with tears in his eyes.
Nina Matvienko died two days before her 76th birthday, on October 8. The cause was cancer, as her son-in-law Arsen Mirzoian said.
