"He takes us for suckers": Gazmanov embarrassed himself with a "patriotic" image and pissed off Russians

The Putinist singer Oleg Gazmanov tried to hide his affection for the Italian fashion house Prada but became a laughingstock in the eyes of his countrymen. Visiting the military in Nizhny Novgorod, the cheering patriot wore a jacket and hat from the brand.

However, Gazmanov deliberately cut off the logo – instead of the name, a black field remained on the clothes. The artist did the same with the red stripe on his jacket, which used to say Prada. The news was spread by the Russian media, which ridiculed the singer.

According to the propagandists, the star's hat on the Prada website costs 420 euros (about 19 thousand hryvnias), while the jacket costs 300 thousand rubles (142 thousand hryvnias). Earlier, Gazmanov said he despised the West. "I'm a gentleman of almost all sanctions that can be imposed on an artist. Well, I have imposed them on everyone, too," he said in July 2024.

This is not the first time a Putinist has been caught in a scandal with branded items. In February 2023, Gazmanov appeared at a rally in Luzhniki wearing his favorite Prada down jacket, with the branded tape on his outerwear taped over. At the time, the singer said that he had to do this because of a TV rule not to advertise company names.
