Ukrainian singer and poet Kostya Hnatenko , who has known the artist Taisiya Povaliy since she won the Slavic Bazaar in 1993, revealed unexpected facts about the traitor to Ukraine. It was a surprise to him that a performer who did not even speak Russian could so easily sell her conscience for rubles.

Now Povaliy cynically sings in Ukrainian in the Kremlin, building bridges between hostile cultures, but at the beginning of her career she glorified only her native language and gave the impression of a good person. Kostya Hnatenko spoke about this in an interview with Angelika Rudnytska on YouTube.

When the artist won her first major victory, she began to be invited to various events as the star of the evening. At one of these events, Hnatenko introduced Povaliy as the "golden voice of Ukraine," a title that stuck with her for years to come.

"I know so many good deeds of Taya Povaliy, purely human. When people called her, they said they were in trouble. There are many such examples. How this terrible metamorphosis took place, how she turned from a Ukrainian woman into a mankurta, a person without a family or tribe, will be a mystery to me," Hnatenko said.

The poet recalled a funny incident that testified to the singer's upbringing in a Ukrainian-speaking environment. When she was trying to speak Russian on television, she said "na lobi" (on the forehead in Ukrainian) instead of "na lbu" (on the forehead in Russian).

"Taya was born in a Ukrainian speaking village in the Bila Tserkva region, her mother is Ukrainian speaker, her whole family is Ukrainian speaker. Taya did not speak Russian well at all. She was not raised in a Russian-speaking environment," the singer explained.

He believes that Povaliy degraded, so now Hnatenko considers his old friend a "lost" person. "God gave her a voice, but took away her mind," the artist summarized.
