A bodyguard of Turkish President Recep Erdogan killed a wasp that landed on the leader's shoulder during a speech in parliament. The prank was captured on video and made netizens laugh.

The politician was speaking so actively from the rostrum that he didn't even notice the buzzing near his ear when the insect landed on his shoulder. However, the potential threat did not escape the attention of Erdogan's bodyguard. The video was shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The footage shows that the bodyguard swatted the wasp away with his hand and then flattened the insect to the president's jacket on his back.

However, this did not seem to be enough for the guard, so he carefully squeezed between Erdogan and the wall to reach the place where the wasp fell and crushed it with his foot.

Turkey's leader reportedly once again  and harshly criticized Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip.

This inspired netizens to make a witty joke, saying that an Israeli insect landed on the politician's shoulder to take revenge for Erdogan's lack of support for Israel.
