Chester Bennington's son slams Linkin Park over new vocalist: why he does not like Emily Armstrong

Chester Bennington's son criticizes Linkin Park

Jamie Bennington, the son of Chester Bennington, the late frontman of the American rock band Linkin Park, who died in 2017 as a result of suicide, criticized his father's former colleagues over the new vocalist. In his opinion, Emily Armstrong is a rather dubious replacement for his father as she was previously associated with Scientology, a religion that believes that humans are immortal beings in a physical body, and supported a friend who was guilty of raping women.

According to Variety, on his Instagram, the 28-year-old man expressed a negative attitude toward the new band's lineup. He noted that in this way Linkin Park co-founder Mike Shinoda "quietly erased his father's life and legacy in real time."

On social media, the late vocalist's son recalled that Emily Armstrong supported her friend, actor Danny Masterson, who was sentenced to 30 years in prison for raping two women. As a representative of the Church of Scientology, the star of the movie The Ranch repeatedly committed sexual crimes against other female parishioners. At first, the actor began to lose roles in popular films, and later was arrested by the Los Angeles Supreme Court.

"People aren’t having a difficult time wrapping their head around the prospect of Linkin Park reinventing itself. They are having a hard time wrapping their head around how you: Hired your friend of many years @emilyarmstrong to replace @chesterbe knowing Emily’s history in the church and her history as an ally to @dannymasterson," Jamie wrote.

The new vocalist of a rock band attended only one hearing in her friend's case, after which she refused to help him. Despite the fact that she apologized to the fans, saying that she does not condone abuse or violence against women and sympathizes with the victims of these crimes, Chester Bennington's descendant believes that they have lost the trust of their fans.

Jamie was particularly outraged that Mike Shinoda decided to announce a new member of Linkin Park in September, which is considered Suicide Prevention Month. In his opinion, this is the worst time to make such information public as his father committed suicide himself.

Earlier, it was reported that Linkin Park returned with a new vocalist and the first song in 7 years. At a live performance in Los Angeles on September 5, the band presented a unique new.
