"Charmed" star with cancer touches fans with a photo of a dog from flooded Kherson region

Shannen Doherty

Famous American actress Shannen Doherty, who has been battling breast cancer since 2015, responded to the large-scale ecocide in Ukraine provoked by the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station by the Russian occupiers. Prue Hollywood, who plays the role of Prue in the cult TV series Charmed, shared a picture of an exhausted dog that was rescued from the flooded Kherson region.

Thus, the Hollywood star posted a post on her InstaStories about a charity organisation that rescues animals. In this way, the actress' fans around the world could see the terrifying consequences of another Russian terror.

The photo shows a large, frightened dog that was pulled out of the water, saved from a painful death. The dog is hugging the rescuer's leg with its paws. The photo, taken by Serhiy Korovainov, went viral online. It was published by many Ukrainian publics and simply moved Ukrainians. Doherty couldn't resist sharing it either.

"All Russians do not deserve a drop of suffering from this Kherson dog, who was rescued from the cold Dnipro water," the photographer captioned his photo.

Thanks to Doherty's sharing of the footage of the aftermath of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station explosion, more and more people abroad learned about the disaster. The artist has over two million followers on Instagram.

As a reminder, the actress was diagnosed with a tumour in her mammary glands back in March 2015. In 2016, she underwent a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. In 2017, the celebrity went into remission. Three years later, Doherty told her fans that she had relapsed and was now fighting the fourth stage.

In June of this year, the star announced the sad news that she had developed metastases in her brain. The actress immediately began a course of radiotherapy.

Earlier, OBOZREVATEL wrote that Shannen Doherty had divorced her husband Kurt Iswarienko. The couple had been living together for 11 years. This was the longest marriage for the celebrity, as the previous two did not last even a year. To learn more, read our article.
