Barbra Streisand flaunted an embroidered shirt with patterns typical of Ternopil and told about her Ukrainian relatives
Barbra Streisand, winner of two Oscars, as well as Emmy, Grammy and Golden Globe awards, American actress and singer, has unveiled a new embroidered shirt. The celebrity donated it as part of the United24 global initiative to support Ukraine.
The embroidered shirt features an ornament typical of the Ternopil region. On her Facebook page, the star asked her fans to join in to help Ukraine (scroll to the bottom of the page to see the photo).
Barbra Streisand demonstrated the embroidered shirt in all its glory by taking a picture with it at home. In the post, she also noted that her family is from the Ternopil region, so it was no accident that the ornament on her shirt was embroidered.
"I received a beautiful embroidered shirt from United24. On this embroidered shirt you can see the patterns of the Ternopil region, where my paternal grandparents come from. You can win the same one by making a donation for the reconstruction of the school," the star said.
The artist wrote about the destroyed secondary school in the village of Buzova, Kyiv region. It was one of the best educational institutions in the region until the Russian occupiers staged a terrorist attack.
It should be noted that a week ago, United24 organised a charity event in which they plan to raffle off 13 embroidered shirts, which exist in two copies - one for the platform's ambassadors and the other for people who will join the fundraiser.
Barbra Streisand became a United24 ambassador in 2022. At that time, she talked to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and decided to devote herself to the medical aid sector.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, popular British singer Harry Styles expressed support for Ukrainians during his performance. Read more about this in the article.
