Pink
Pink (real name Alisha Moore) was born on September 8, 1979 in Philadelphia, USA, to a family of a Vietnam War veteran who separated from the mother of the future star when the girl was not even seven years old.
She began her musical career as a pop and R&B singer. But, working on her second album, Pink opted for a slightly different role. The album "Missundaztood" covers not only pop and R&B, but also hip-hop, disco, and blues-rock. The singer managed to involve to the work on the album her former idol and the former lead singer of "Non Blondes" Linda Perry, together they wrote six songs and the author of two songs was Perry herself. The album was released on November 20, 2001.
Commercially "Missundaztood" was much more successful than "Can't Take Me Home". The single "Get the Party Started", written and produced by Perry, rose to number five on the charts in the United States, and topped the charts in many other countries.
Other singles from the album, including "Don't Let Me Get Me," "Just Like a Pill" and "Family Portrait," also ranked in the top 20. The single "Just Like a Pill" was a success in the U.K., where the song topped the country charts for several weeks. "Missundaztood" went platinum five times in the U.S., and total sales worldwide were 16 million copies. In the U.K., it was the second best-selling album in 2002.
In summer 2003, Pink released the single "Feel Good Time" which became the soundtrack to the movie Charlie's Angels: Full Frontal. The singer also played a cameo in the film. The single was produced by electronic music specialist William Orbit. The song was based on the '60s song "Fresh Garbage" by Spirit. "Feel Good Time" reached the 60th place in the top 100 singles chart of "Billboard" magazine.
Pink's third album, Try This, was released on November 11, 2003. Eight of the thirteen tracks were co-written with Tim Armstrong of the punk band Rancid. Linda Perry also took part in the creation of the album as a lyricist and composer. The album went straight to the Top 10 in Canada, the UK, Australia, and the US. In the latter it received platinum status.
All three singles from the album, "Trouble," "God Is A DJ," and "Last to Know," did not have much success in the U.S. but hit the Top 10 in other countries, especially in the UK and Australia. The song "Trouble" earned Pink her second Grammy Award in 2003 for Best Female Rock Vocal.
Pink starred in cameo roles in Charlie's Angels: Only Go and American History X. In 2007, the horror film Catacombs was released, in which Pink co-starred with actress Shannon Sossamon.
On August 7, 2008, Pink's single "So What" leaked to the internet and radio stations across Australia, and immediately received major airplay. In less than 6 hours of leakage, "So What" was picked #1 on the Nova 100 Melbourne and hit #1 on the Today Network Hot30 Countdown domestic radio. It also went to #1 on the official Australian and UK iTunes charts. On August 22, Pink announced a new track called "Crystal Ball".
On September 18, 2008, "So What" became the first solo hit of her career on the Billboard Hot 100. The track reached number one in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Germany. Pink was the guest of honour at the 2008 ARIA Music Awards held in Sydney, Australia in October 2008, where she performed "So What. On November 3, 2008, "Funhouse" debuted at number one on the ARIA chart and went double Platinum, selling over 86,000 units in its first week. Pink's "Funhouse" tour sold out at all shows in Australia, she performed a total of 58 shows around the country from May through August 2009, performing for more than 600,000 Australian fans
The Funhouse Tour began in France on February 24 and continued through Europe until mid-May with support in the form of the band Raygu. Pink then performed a series of shows in Australia.
On November 23, 2008 Pink performed her second single from Funhouse, "Sober" at the American Music Awards. The third single was "Please Don't Leave Me", the video was directed by Dave Meyers. The fourth single was "Funhouse", although "Bad Influence" was released in Australia before the release of "Funhouse"' as a promotional single for the tour.
In May 2009 Pink released a 4CD set of her Can't Take Me Home / Missundaztood / Try This / I'm Not Dead albums, not including the Funhouse album. The album peaked at number 7 on the UK Album Chart.
On September 13, 2009, Pink performed "Sober" during a performance at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards,[33] where she was nominated for Best Female Video. On January 31, 2010, Pink performed again at the Silk Ribbon Trapeze at the 2010 Grammy Awards, this time with the song "Glitter in the Air". She received a standing ovation.
Pink's music was the opening act on October 4, 2009 on an episode of Australian Idol.
Pink was the lead singer in the 1985 remake of the charity single We Are the World. It was then announced that Pink will collaborate with Herbie Hancock for her album The Imagine Project.
Pink stated that after the Funhouse Summer Carnival Tour she would like to go back into the studio for the Funhouse addition, but that it would take some time to record because she "doesn't really have anything to say"
Marriage
Pink dated professional motocross racer Cary Hart at the 2001 X Games in Philadelphia. Hart had previously starred in Pink's early music video "Just Like a Pill." In 2005, Pink proposed to Hart during a motocross race in Mammoth Lakes, California, holding a sign that read "Will you marry me?" The other side read, "I'm not kidding!" They were married in Costa Rica on January 7, 2006.
After months of deliberation, Pink's agent Michael Schweitzer told People magazine on Feb. 19, 2008, that the singer and Hart had broken up. "This decision was made by best friends out of a pure heart and respect for each other," Schweitzer said. The music video for her 2008 hit "So What," in which Hart appeared, shows her breakup and pending divorce.
In March 2009, Cary Hart admitted in an interview with SpeedFreaks magazine that he and Pink "dated."Cary also confirmed on Jason Ellis' Sirius XM radio show, Chelsea Lately and The Best Damn Sports Show Period that he and Pink were trying to work things out, stating, "Sometimes you have to take a couple steps back to move forward." Pink claimed that the couple went to the marriage and got back together. They never officially divorced.
In an interview with Oprah Winfrey on Feb. 5, 2010, Pink stated that she and her husband Cary are back together. She said the breakup taught her not to try to change him and taught her that she also had to work on herself to save the marriage.
In the fall of 2010, rumors leaked to the press that Pink was pregnant. They began to appear her photos with a rounded belly, taken by paparazzi. In November 2010 the singer officially confirmed rumors of her pregnancy, saying she was very happy about it.
On June 2, 2011, in a clinic in Los Angeles, Pink gave birth to a daughter who was named Willow Sage Hart.
