Kim Jong-un is a North Korean political, state, military and party figure. Since 2011 he has been the supreme leader of North Korea, succeeding his father Kim Jong-il.

Short biography

According to official data, Kim Jong-un was born on January 8, 1982. However, the media also give other dates: in particular, it is claimed that the year of birth could also be 1983 or 1984. In addition, the date of birth may also be different: July 5, 1984.

Kim Jong-un's mother is former ballerina Ko Young-hee, who was Kim Jong-il's third wife.

Information about Kim Jong-un's education also varies widely. It is known for certain that he received a degree in physics from Kim Il Sung University, as well as an army officer's degree from Kim Il Sung Military University.
