President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine had won the battle for the Black Sea at the Berlin Ukraine Recovery Conference. At the same time, the head of state noted that not all the needs of the Ukrainian army have been met.

In particular, the president once again drew the West's attention to the need to strengthen air defense. Zelenskyy's speech at the conference was broadcast on the Presidential Office's YouTube channel.

According to the president, over the two years of war, Ukrainian soldiers have shown that they are able to drive the occupiers out of their territory and achieve the necessary victories. Zelenskyy emphasized that the Armed Forces won the battle for the Black Sea and proved that modern air defense systems can destroy any Russian missiles and drones.

The head of state also emphasized that it is important to deprive the terrorist country Russia of any advantage. At the same time, Zelenskyy noted that the enemy still has a strategic advantage in the sky.

"This advantage in the sky is missile and bomb terror, which helps Russian troops advance on the ground and Russian hatred to destroy the lives of Ukrainians in our cities and villages. Up to a hundred guided bombs are dropped every day. For example, there were 80 on Sunday and 95 on Monday. This is a fierce destructive pressure. Plus missiles and attack drones," the president said.

He also noted that until Russia is deprived of the possibility of such terror, the Kremlin dictator Putin will not be interested in finding a fair and just peace. The Head of State expressed gratitude to German partners for modern air defense systems that save the lives of Ukrainians.

At the same time, Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine still needs at least seven Patriot air defense systems to help close major urban agglomerations.

The president drew special attention to Russian strikes on energy infrastructure. Zelenskyy noted that since the beginning of the war, Putin has been considering energy as an instrument of influence and subjugation of the nation.

"As a result of strikes by Russian missiles and drones, 9 gigawatts of power have already been destroyed, while the peak consumption last winter was 18 gigawatts. That is why half of it does not exist anymore. What is 9 gigawatts? Berlin has about 2 gigawatts of demand, Munich - up to 3 gigawatts. We have already lost many times more than the consumption of large cities. Putin has simply destroyed 80% of Ukraine's thermal generation and a third of its hydro generation. And this is not the limit of his terror, unfortunately," the president said.

Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine, together with its partners, must do everything to preserve the existing generation and restore what has been lost as much as possible. The president said that renewable energy will serve Ukraine and Europe as the energy foundation for decades to come, and will also be proof that Russia's arsenal will not retain such weapons as blackout.

As a reminder, the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024 kicked off in the German capital Berlin on June 11. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy are taking part in the conference.

Earlier, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine intends to restore all energy facilities destroyed by Russia that can be saved by the winter of 2024-2025. To do this, European partners will need equipment from idle power plants and financial support in the next three to four months.
