"We will get the enemy both in the sky and on the ground": the Air Force made a statement after the downing of a Russian IL-76 near Belgorod

The Air Force of Ukraine has been fighting, is fighting and will continue to fight the enemy wherever it is, protecting our citizens from terrorist attacks. The occupiers are constantly attacking Ukrainian cities and regions near the frontline with missiles, drones and bombs.

This was stated in the Telegram channel of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is emphasized that the enemy will be defeated both in the sky and on the ground.

"We have more and more tools and opportunities to get the enemy where he does not expect it!" the statement reads.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine also emphasize the current intensification of Russian propaganda, which spreads fakes to an external audience in order to discredit Ukraine in the eyes of the international community.

"The goal is obvious - they want to reduce international support for our country. This will not work! Ukraine has the right to defend itself and the right to destroy the aggressor's air attack assets," the Air Force emphasized.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Russians recorded the moment of the crash of an Il-76 aircraft in the Belgorod region, which was carrying S-300 missiles. The board caught fire in midair, and after it hit the surface, a fire mushroom rose into the sky.

According to Russian public information, it was an IL-76MD RA-78830 that took off from Egypt on Wednesday morning. The propagandists first wrote that there were 63 and then 75 people on board (including five crew members). They claimed that 74 people were killed and that they were "Ukrainian prisoners of war."

At the same time, the Ukrainian monitoring channel emphasized that the information about 63 people was a Russian "throw-in", followed by an IPSO about alleged Ukrainian prisoners on board.

"The IL-76 was carrying missiles for the S-300 and was shot down," the statement said.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine cannot confirm that the Russian plane was shot down by Ukrainian forces, as they are "still investigating the information."

As reported by OBOZ.UA, according to British intelligence, Russia has actually recognized the elimination of the A-50 aircraft by Ukraine. After the Defense Forces shot down this reconnaissance plane over the Sea of Azov, the Russians commissioned another such aircraft.
