US prepares new $225 million aid package for Ukraine - Reuters
The United States may soon announce a new military aid package for Ukraine. This time, the amount of funding may amount to $225 million.
There are no details on when exactly this will happen. However, the announcement is expected on June 6 or 7, Reuters suggested, citing unnamed sources.
The information about the new batch of weapons and equipment came before the meeting between US and Ukrainian Presidents Joe Biden and Volodymyr Zelensky. The talks are scheduled to take place on Thursday, June 6, during events marking the 80th anniversary of the Allied landings in Normandy.
The previous aid package (for $275 million) was announced by Washington on May 24. It was the fifth after Biden signed the law on financing additional US national security needs, and the third that the United States allocated through the Presidential Decision Authority (PDA).
As reported by OBOZ.UA, recently, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the resumption of US military aid helped stabilize the situation at the front in Ukraine. It was thanks to this assistance that the Kremlin's plans to seize Kharkiv were thwarted, according to the US State Department.
