Ukraine can create an "air shield": Air Force said what is needed for this purpose

Ukraine can create a powerful "air shield" over its territory to protect it from Russian attacks. This requires everything described in the vision of the Air Force, which was adopted before the full-scale war.

This was stated by the Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat during a national TV marathon. He emphasized that all Ukrainian air defense systems are now in constant readiness without exception.

Ihnat also noted that the realities of today's war differ from the imaginary protective dome that could protect everyone.

"It is very boastful to talk about an 'air shield' for Ukraine. We do want to have such a dome that will protect everyone, but not in our realities. Only a country like Israel (the size of one Ukrainian region) can afford such a shield," Ihnat said.

The spokesman added that even the famous Israeli Iron Dome cannot cope with everything that flies when there is a massive shelling with various types of weapons.

According to him, in the case of Ukraine, it will be possible to talk about a powerful "air shield" when the country receives everything it wants to have the model of the Air Force, which was previously described in the vision of the Armed Forces.

It was adopted before the war and it spells out what air defense should look like, Ihnat said.

"But let's get back to the realities. Today, there is constant readiness. When our colleagues ask us how ready we are, whether we are preparing and what options we have, we say we have everything we have, everything is on the line. We do not keep any anti-aircraft systems in reserve," the Air Force spokesman said.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the G7 countries will discuss the "air shield" of Ukraine's air defense at a meeting in Tokyo, which began on November 7. This was announced by German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock.
