"This is an axiom": Danylov answered whether all Ukrainians should prepare to fight

Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, said that all Ukrainians should prepare to fight . He called it an axiom, as the war started by Russia continues.

The NSDC Secretary said this in an interview with the Liga media outlet. "This is an axiom, and we should not be surprised. We are in a rather complicated world when we have to defend our country while having a crazy neighbor. Even when Russia fragments, we have to be ready. And the fragmentation of Russia will definitely happen in our lifetime," he said.

Danilov added that mobilization in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022, and has not stopped for a single day. And the government does not hide this, unlike Russia.

He also noted that if Kyiv does not have modern means of destruction, assistance from partners, it will be very, very difficult to hold on to the front line alone.

"That's why we get ATACMS, SCALP, etc., which are much more effective in modern warfare. When you use modern weapons, age does not matter. The idea that everyone in the Armed Forces should be young is a little bit distorted," explained the Secretary of the Security Council.

In addition, he explained why President Volodymyr Zelenskyi has not signed the law lowering the mobilization age from 27 to 25 for five months.

"This is a very sensitive issue, when you have to take responsibility for the fact that younger people have to go to the front. It is very difficult. It is very difficult," Danilov said.

He noted that the main thing now is to try to solve several problems . These include strengthening air defense to protect the population and critical infrastructure, as well as obtaining modern weapons.

"F-16 is not a whim. It is about the lives of our military. It is at least about a certain parity in the air with Russia. Modern means of destruction is another thing. A simple example. When the first cases of destruction of Russian military helicopters began, the number of flights decreased by two or three times. Accordingly, this is the life of our boys and girls," explained the NSDC Secretary.

At the same time,he admitted that not all people can take up arms and fight.

"I would be insincere if I told you that everyone should go and fight. Killing people is a very difficult thing. And there are certain people who are ready to go, and it's not about age. It's about their inner state. And there are people whom you can train as much as you want, prepare like a superman, but they will not go. Our society has a simplistic view: if people went to training, it means they must be stormtroopers. Life is a little bit different. Everyone has their own inner world. God made it so that people have fear. But everyone has to defend themselves. You have to have the skills to protect yourself, first of all," Danilov summarized.

As reported by OBOZ.UA:

- Earlier, MP Roman Kostenko said that mobilization in Ukraine could be strengthened if the military strategy is changed. Plans for mobilization are determined by the General Staff of the Armed Forces.

- Deputy Defense Minister Oleksandr Pavliuk said that Ukraine is doing everything possible not to increase the pace of mobilization, but all men should prepare to defend the country.

- It is expected that in one or two months our country will launch "smart mobilization", which will allow you to choose the desired specialization in the army.
