Stoltenberg on the delivery of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine: delivery will start as soon as possible

The West promises to promptly supply the Ukrainian Air Force with F-16 aircraft. This will be done "as quickly as possible".

The statement was made by the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, Jens Stoltenberg. On Wednesday, November 29, he spoke at a press conference following the NATO-Ukraine Council at the level of foreign ministers in Brussels, Belgium.

"I can't give you exact data, but I believe that the deliveries can take place as soon as possible," the Secretary General said, noting that the training of Ukrainian pilots must first be completed.

At the press conference, Stoltenberg said: "The United States has made it clear that NATO allies can supply American F-16s to Ukraine.

According to him, the F-16s will not be a "silver bullet" but can make a difference."They will enhance Ukraine's ability to inflict casualties on Russian occupation forces, and F-16s will also further strengthen Ukraine's air defense," Stoltenberg explained.

- On November 21, Air Force Command spokesman Yuriy Ihnat said that Ukrainian pilots continue training on F-16s, some of whom are already undergoing training in the air with instructors.

- In parallel with the training of pilots, Ukraine has created a special structure to integrate the F-16 into the overall system of the Armed Forces. The program will be implemented in two stages: "Fast Track" and "Scaling Up".
