Occupiers launched at least 39 "Shahed" drones towards southern Ukraine overnight: Humenyuk revealed details of the attack

Occupiers launched dozens of "Shahed" drones towards southern Ukraine

On the night of December 14, the aggressor country, Russia, launched almost four dozen Shahed-136/131 kamikaze drones in the southern regions of Ukraine. The air defense system effectively targeted enemy threats in the Odesa region, but some fragments hit and caused casualties.

Simultaneously with the Shahids, the enemy conducted missile attacks on the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions. This information was reported by Natalia Humeniuk, spokesperson for the Joint Press Center of the Operational Command "South," during a telethon.

"There was significant activity in the south because last night Russia launched at least 39 UAVs in the direction of our area of responsibility. We effectively engaged with them," she noted.

However, she pointed out that even when the air defense forces successfully neutralize drones, there can be consequences as downed targets may still cause harm to the population and infrastructure. "The enemy, aware of this, intentionally launches Shaheds through residential areas and industrial facilities.

Another priority target is the port infrastructure of southern Ukraine, which was again damaged today. Specifically, last night, the occupiers launched attack UAVs across the Danube, seeking an opportunity to damage this particular infrastructure.

According to the Southern Defense Forces, air defense forces shot down 32 enemy drones over the Odesa region, five over the Mykolaiv region, and two over the Kherson region.

A missile strike, likely from an S-300 air defense system, hit Myroliubivka in the Kherson region, resulting in the destruction of a private house, garage, and outbuildings. An elderly woman died under the rubble, and a school and an outpatient clinic were damaged. Another missile hit Snihurivka in the Mykolaiv region, causing no significant damage or casualties.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, last night the defenders neutralized 41 out of 42 Shahed-136/131 kamikaze drones used by Russia to attack the southern regions. Most enemy targets were shot down in the Odesa region. It is known that the occupiers launched six anti-aircraft-guided missiles in the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, in the evening of December 13, Russian occupiers began launching Shakhtys towards the south of Ukraine. The attack resulted in fires in the Odesa region, and 11 people were injured.
