Explosions heard in Kyiv during air raid alert: a warehouse is burning, there are victims
In Kyiv, during an air raid alert on the morning of December 29, explosions were heard. The air defense system was working in the capital.
This was announced by the mayor of the city Vitalii Klychko. He urged the citizens to remain calm and stay in shelters.
"Explosions in Kyiv. Air defense is working. Stay in shelters," the mayor said at 07:34 a.m.
At 07:54, the mayor reported about explosions in the capital and the work of air defense again.
At 08:04, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhii Popko, said that debris had fallen in the Sviatoshynskyi district of the capital. Preliminarily, a residential multi-story building is on fire. Information on possible damage is currently being investigated.
At 08:09, Klychko also reported that a warehouse was on fire in the Podil district.
The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that there were wounded in the Podil district as a result of the strike. Information about them is currently being clarified. Emergency services are heading to the scene of the fire.
It should be noted that the aggressor country Russia attacked Ukraine for the second time after the night Shahed drone attack on December 29. Thus, in the morning, the occupiers also launched missiles towards our country. As a result, air raid alerts were announced in almost all regions of the country on Friday morning twice, and later it became known about hits with victims.
According to the monitoring channels, the enemy has used about twenty bombers. People in the "red" zones were urged to go to shelters.
