Capabilities increased 100 times: new data on Ukraine's success in drone production revealed

This is a significant change compared to 2022

Today, the state can sign contracts for 67 unique models of Ukrainian drones that have successfully passed certification procedures. This is a significant change compared to 2022 when there were only 7 on the market.

This was reported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation. Currently, 200 companies engaged in the production of drones are registered in Ukraine.

Due to a significant increase in investment and simplification of regulations, these companies have been able to expand their production capabilities 100 times compared to the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation noted that this refers to the capabilities of domestic producers. That is, these are the capacities that can theoretically be contracted by the state, funds, or other customers.

As for the actual production of drones, it has increased "tenfold" over the past year. The calculations were based on the number of UAVs produced, taking into account the significant number of available FPV drones, the production of which was not so active before.

"Between June 2023 and January 2024, the drones purchased by the Army of Drones hit 14,000 targets. These are tanks, armored personnel carriers, strongholds, etc. There were cases when 80 units of equipment were hit in one night," the Ministry of Digital Transformation noted.

As part of the Army of Drones program, Ukraine has trained more than 20,000 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operators, involving 33 partner schools.

According to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, over the past year and a half, the Verkhovna Rada and the government have adopted about 20 laws and regulations aimed at simplifying the production of UAVs. These initiatives include easing the procedures for approval for operation, simplifying export controls, exempting components from VAT and duties, and other important aspects.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the state is working to speed up logistics and increase the efficiency of FPV drones. According to the President, this is a priority for Ukraine.
