26th Brigade's press officer Kalashnikov said AFU created serious problems for Russia as occupants use Soviet-era stockpiles

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have created serious problems for Russia at the front

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukrainian defenders have destroyed about 8 thousand artillery pieces of the Russian occupation army. The enemy has lost a large number of self-propelled artillery systems, so it is trying to replace them with ancient Soviet weapons.

The enemy has even begun to use artillery from the 40s of the last century. Oleh Kalashnikov, a press officer of the 26th Artillery Brigade named after Roman Dashkevych, said this during the TV marathon.

According to him, to date, Ukrainian troops have destroyed about 7.9 thousand enemy artillery pieces. This indicates an effective counter-battery fight.

Kalashnikov notes that such losses hit the enemy hard as it is very difficult for the Russians to replenish their losses.

"If you follow the General Staff's report, the number of destroyed artillery is already up to about 7,900. We can say that we are quite successful in counter-battery warfare as a significant number of self-propelled artillery pieces have been destroyed. It is very difficult for them to replenish them because there are few of them in the arsenals, and those that are available are without barrels," Kalashnikov said.

He also added that D-1 and D-44 artillery systems, which were produced in the 40s of the last century, have started to appear at the front. In addition, due to the lack of artillery, Russian troops are forced to bring multiple launch rocket systems to the front line.

"They are already replenishing them with old Soviet alternatives as we can see D-1, D-44, very old artillery weapons. However, they managed to restore 200-300 artillery barrels and send them to the front. Due to the lack of barrel artillery, they are pulling MLRS to the front line, so their destruction is increasing. As they have less cannon artillery, they have started to bring tanks closer and use them as artillery. We can also see a lot of activity in the use of small arms," Kalashnikov said.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 176 units of weapons and military equipment of the Russian army on November 25, more than half of which were drones. In addition, the defenders "demilitarized" 1,070 occupants.

Earlier, it was reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces marines destroyed the occupiers' Grad multiple rocket launcher systems in the Kherson sector. The enemy equipment was burned with the help of HIMARS.
