"Stupid discomfort arranged": Russian Olympic champion threw a tantrum over Ukrainians' refusal of handshakes

Tikhonov insulted the Ukrainians

Four-time Olympic champion Alexander Tikhonov became furious over Ukraine's call on international federations to cancel mandatory handshakes between athletes from our country and representatives of Russia and Belarus. The former biathlete, pretending that the Russian Federation is not waging a criminal war, was outraged by such an initiative, telling about the calls for peace.

Tikhonov said this in a commentary to the propaganda news agency RIA Novosti. The 11-time world champion called Ukrainians brainless people who "will soon run out", and with typical hypocrisy for representatives of the aggressor country added that sport should unite people.

"What else can you expect from them... How can you make such inane suggestions! We've been greeting each other for thousands of years, all nationalities. And now they've made everyone so uncomfortable. Brainless, stupid people who will soon be finished. Sports should unite people. We always sat at the same table, made friends, returned phone calls, called only for peace and friendship. And what now?" - Tikhonov said.

It should be noted that the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Youth and Sports, against the background of the scandal with Olga Kharlan at the World Fencing Championships, made a demand to international federations to cancel the mandatory handshakes and bows at tournaments where Ukrainian, as well as Russian or Belarusian athletes perform.

As reported OBOZREVATEL, the Olympic champion Mikhail Mamiashvili with words about the "superior race" demanded to allow Russian athletes to the world championship-2023 wrestling without additional conditions.
