A 36-year-old resident of the Zakarpattia region gave birth to her eighth child in an ambulance. She was carried to the ambulance on a stretcher by a paramedic, the driver and her husband, because there was no road to her house.
The boy was born on March 2 between the villages of Horinchovo and Lipetsk Vorota. The case was reported on the Facebook page 103 Zakarpattia.
At about 11:30 a.m., crew #1005 (paramedic Olesya Ignatko and driver Vitaliy Styslo) received a call for a delivery in a remote area, 1.5 km from the village of Horinchovo.
It was impossible to reach the woman's place of residence (Dilok village) by car.
"But this did not stop our specialists from covering this distance on foot with the necessary equipment and stretchers. All the while realizing that the woman was in her eighth labor and that there was a high probability of a rapid development of events," the publication says.
The woman was taken into an ambulance and placed on a stretcher. They tried to carry her carefully but quickly.
"The husband of the woman in labor also helped us... Between the villages of Horinchovo and Lipetski Vorota, it became clear that the baby would not wait. We stopped the car and delivered the baby. The boy was born with the umbilical cord wrapped around him," said ambulance worker Ignatko.
She noted that a fellow driver helped her with all the manipulations.
"They did everything they should in such cases. We put the newborn on my mother's chest and drove to the hospital very carefully," the paramedic recalled.
Doctors reported that the mother and the newborn are doing well.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, earlier in Kyiv, doctors delivered a baby in an ambulance. The resident of the capital began to have contractions when she was being taken to a medical facility. A girl was born, she was named Daria.
